MAINTENANCE

A Proven Step Towards Renewable Energy

Scheduled Maintenance can be carried out at night to reduce down time with the fleet.

Powered by the sun the complex may well be the only one of its kind in the world.

The facility boasts air conditioned rooms, refrigeration, printers, Wi Fi, compressors, powerful lead lighting, security cameras and all the machinery required to operate a modern aircraft maintenance facility.

After 18 months of efficient operation this bold leap into the unknown has proven to be a huge success for Daintree Air Services, for Cooktown and for the environment.

Renewable Energy leading the Way

In an effort to reduce their carbon footprint Daintree Air Services a Cairns based Air Charter Company completed construction of their State of the Art Maintenance Facility at Cooktown Airport during July 2018.

Licensing and technical fitout followed completing the Complex.

Scott Morrisson The Prime Minister of Australia officially opened the facility on January 22, 2019.

To date engineers have completed approximately 7000 hours work in the facility representing hundreds of thousands of dollars in revenue. When required work is carried out until late at night.

The facility is completely off the grid. Rainwater is stored in tanks.

Cooktown Locals now have the opportunity to follow their dreams of a career in Aviation without leaving home with new positions being created in the fields of Engineering apprenticeship programs, Compliance and Flight Crew.
